A Schengen Visa allows Indian travellers to enter and move freely across multiple European countries using a single permit. Indians need it because the Schengen Zone follows a unified border policy, making cross-country travel smooth and convenient.
You must provide a valid passport, confirmed accommodation, financial proof, a planned travel itinerary, and travel insurance that meets the required medical coverage. These documents help authorities verify your purpose of travel and eligibility.
Most applications take about 15–25 working days, depending on the embassy, the travel season, and the accuracy of your documents. Applying early is recommended to avoid delays.
Indian travellers can stay for up to 90 days within a 180-day period. This applies to tourism and short-term visits across all Schengen countries.
