The “Big 5” Ride

After a delicious breakfast at your hotel. Meet the guide who will be accompanying you on ride to explore the big five. depart for Maasai Mara National Reserve, Kenya’s most famous game area. After lunch at your lodge, set out on your first game drive in search of the “Big 5”—lion, leopard, elephant, rhino, and Cape buffalo.

Massai Mara Game Reserve

Take part in game drives today in the "Mara," as the locals refer to it. The reserve, which is a component of the Serengeti ecosystem, has a sizable year-round wildlife population. The population grows by over 2 million when the wildebeest and zebra of the Great Migration arrive. This gives lions, cheetahs, leopards, and hyenas a fantastic food source.

Amboseli National Park

Get on a plane today for the brief travel to Nairobi. Drive to Amboseli National Park after a brief rest. This park is renowned for its breathtaking vistas of Mount Kilimanjaro, the highest mountain in Africa at 19,341 feet. Take a game drive in the late afternoon before checking into your hotel.

Game drives in the morning and the late afternoon provide you a fantastic opportunity to come up close to the powerful elephant. Zebra, wild dogs, Cape buffalo, and other animals are possible sightings. Unwind in your resort during the hottest part of the day.

This morning, cross the border into Tanzania. After lunch in Arusha, proceed to your camp overlooking Lake Manyara.

A small, environmentally diversified park, Lake Manyara National Park features grassy plains, groundwater forests, and the alkaline Lake Manyara itself. The greatest population of baboons in the world can be found in the park. On your morning game drive, keep an eye out for these cheeky primates, giraffe, hippo, and other animals. After that, travel to your hotel and spend this afternoon at leisure. Join an optional visit to a neighborhood elementary school to meet the kids.

Visit the crater's bottom to go on a full-day game drive. Technically speaking, Ngorongoro Crater is a caldera—the largest unflooded caldera in the world, in fact, at more than 2,000 feet deep and 102 square miles in size. The majority of the animals remain in this region all year long, making for excellent game viewing. Elephant, flamingo, hippo, Cape buffalo, and lion are all visible. Additionally, this is your best opportunity to see the uncommon black rhinoceros. There will be a picnic lunch served in the crater.

Today, drive to Serengeti National Park, Tanzania’s largest and most famous park. Home to the annual Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra, it attracts visitors from around the world and is great for game viewing year round. Enjoy lunch at your lodge before an afternoon game drive.

The Serengeti covers an area of roughly 5,700 square miles, so it is no surprise that the name comes from the Maasai word siring it, meaning “endless plains.” Continue your exploration during morning and afternoon game drives. You have the chance to see the big cats—lion, leopard, and cheetah—as well as an abundance of other animals, including the Nile crocodile, giraffe, gazelle, and eland.
